Butterflies, Photo Booth, and Block Party!

Papillon Shawl / Butterfly Cowl

© URTH yarns

© StacyAce Don’t forget this Saturday June 22 is our BAL (Butterfly -A-Long!) kickoff. Join us any time during the day to cast on or knit along. Either the no-stress cowl version of Marin Melchior’s famous butterfly pattern – the Butterfly Cowl or The Big One – the Papillon Shawl. The little cowl took me only 2 days from cast on to blocking. I’m about 70% done with The Big One – it really is such an addictive knit. Don’t fear the short rows, but do be aware of how much counting is involved. I’ve remarked again and again “I’ve never counted to 10 so many times in my life!” Yarn Highlight – Katia Darling Rainbow

I found another BEAUTIFUL yarn option in our massive inventory – Katia Darling – just one of these 50g balls plus a solid contrast color will make the cowl. Or use more than one self changing colorways to create your own multi-colored masterpiece. Project Highlight – Find Your Fade

@ AliciaWallaceSoprano Did you see one of the most beautiful Find Your Fade Shawls that walked into the store last week (via Alicia!)? We made the most of the opportunity in our new PHOTO BOOTH! Come by any time to snap a pic of your WIP or brag-worthy FO. We love to see your progress and celebrate your successes. Block Party

© StacyAce Speaking of WIPs and FOs; have you finished your Shift? Are you mid-shift? Still working on the Nightshift? Well, wherever you are, if you’ve peeked at the end of the pattern and are at all worried about the blocking, finishing and seaming, then join us on Saturday June 29 for a Block Party. I’ve left all the ends hanging out and have not let myself fix the rolling edge of my fingering weight version. Come in from 3 to 5 pm and I’ll demonstrate some blocking techniques. Together we’ll take your project from homemade to Handmade.

Can you keep a secret? Me neither! We’re going to have a BEADED shawl project coming later this summer. You really won’t believe how easy it is to add beads to a project. Come learn this new skill with us on a one skein garter stitch project (fingering weight) and only 120 beads. Dates/times TBD… Join us on social media #FOFridays and #WIPWednesdays Don’t forget to tag us on IG: #FOFridaysatYAY – for your Finished Objects on Fridays #WIPWednesdaysatYAY – for all your Works In Progress We love to see what you’re working on and celebrate your FOs.
